Day 2 (Phase 2) / Plyometrics: Skipped heavy impact jump stuff (rock stars, etc) due to inflamed left knee. Will compensate w/leg lift exercises from PT summer before last. Otherwise, might have lost a step due to the layoff & cough, but hung well enough. Cardio is tough with a chest cold.
HR in 170s for much of today’s session.

Day 1 (Phase 2): Shoulders, Chest, Triceps: Was able to hang, but did not enjoy this workout as much as others. Could not do 1-armed pushups; otherwise, kept pace with the DVD.

Update: I took my “recovery week” as a real rest week – took about 4-6 days off completely. I did more days than I’ve blogged about here, but I’m finding I’m burning out – I’m a fit guy, and have run and lifted for years, but I’m having a real hard time finding 60-90 minutes a day where I can follow the program without other stuff interfering. I’m going to pick it up again today in Week 5 of the program and see where it takes me.

Day 18 / Shoulders & Arms: Think I’ve about hit the ceiling in terms of weight for these exercises; I’ll be interested to see what happens after the ‘recovery week.’ No Yoga today.

Day 17 / Shoulders & Arms: Life gets in the way – postponing til tomorrow, skipping Yoga this week.

Day 16 / Plyometrics: Continuing to improve, though strength in legs is still weak. Able to hang a lot longer this week than in previous 2. I have been exhausted at night recently, which tells me I’m probably doing something right! Looking forward to the first recovery week.

Day 15 / Chest & Back: Again, feeling good. Upped my reps on all exercises & upped weight on lawnmowers. Arms feeling solid.

Day 13 / Kenpo: Felt good tonight – I like the kicking & punching, and I feel like my coordination’s improving.
